Flipkart Global Programme Launched, Enables Its Sellers to Export Products on eBay

Flipkart on Tuesday announced the launch of ‘Flipkart Global’, a programme that enables Indian sellers to export their products to buyers around the world. The e-commerce site will use eBay India’s export capabilities to help sellers ship their products abroad. This new service ties in with Flipkart’s ‘Month of Partners’, following the company’s merger with eBay India earlier this month.

The e-commerce marketplace is leveraging eBay India to connect its 100,000 plus sellers to to over 171 million active eBay customers around the world. Some of the countries include the US, UK, Germany, Canada, and Australia.

The launch of the new offering will mean that existing 25,000 retail export sellers on eBay India will migrate to Flipkart Global and list their products through the platform. While Flipkart customers have access to a wide array of international products available on eBay, international customers of eBay will now have access to unique Indian products from Flipkart sellers. Flipkart in a statement also said that it will be talking to sellers across India over the next 20 days to educate them about the new service and help them take advantage of the programme.

Flipkart Global Programme Launched, Enables Its Sellers to Export Products on eBay“India has immense export potential and there are many SMEs who have unique products but don’t know how to make them available to global buyers. With the launch of Flipkart Global, we’re removing traditional growth barriers and giving them a platform to reach out internationally and expand sales,” Anil Goteti, Head Marketplace at Flipkart and Head of eBay India, said.

“Besides enabling trade, Flipkart Global will also help generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities, revive the fortunes of many artisans whose products are in huge demand internationally, and bring in much needed foreign exchange for the exchequer.”

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Will Likely Be an Amazon India Exclusive

Samsung is set to unveil its next phablet in the Galaxy Note series on Wednesday. The Galaxy Note 8 has been pretty much detailed in every way over the many reports in the past few weeks. We know that the Galaxy Note 8 will look similar to Galaxy S8 in terms of its bezel-less design language. It has also been tipped that the phablet will be priced around EUR 1,000 (roughly Rs. 75,400) and will likely be made available for pre-orders starting August 24, and it looks like Amazon India will get the rights to sell the Galaxy Note 8 in the country.

The Galaxy Note 8 will likely be exclusive to Amazon India based on the “Galaxy Unpacked” bannerdisplayed on the e-commerce site. Interestingly, Samsung’s recent Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ flagships were launched with Flipkart as the exclusive online partner. It still unclear whether the Galaxy Note 8 will also be available on Flipkart, but given the lack of promotional banner, it’s safe to say that it will be an Amazon exclusive.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Will Likely Be an Amazon India ExclusiveSamsung’s newest flagship is expected to sport a 6.3-inch QHD (1440×2960 pixels) Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9, which is marginally bigger than the Galaxy S8+. Past leaks suggest that it will be available in eight colour variants – Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Orchid Gray/Violet, Coral Blue, Dark Blue, Deep Sea Blue, Pink, and Gold colour variants.

The Galaxy Note 8 is tipped to be powered by Exynos 8895 SoC globally, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in the US and select other regions. It is also expected to come with a dual camera setup with two 12-megapixel sensors. The fingerprint sensor will be placed next to the camera setup similar to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. It will likely be offered in a 6GB+64GB configuration, but a 256GB storage variant has also been suggested. The handset is expected to measure 162.5×74.6×8.5mm. Galaxy Note 8 has been tipped to house a 3300mAh battery that can be charged either wirelessly or through USB Type-C.

The Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event will begin at 8.30pm IST (11am EDT in New York), and can be live streamed on Samsung India’s website.
